St. Gallen/Marbach/Münster. There was a great atmosphere among spectators, customers and breeders at the Longines CSIO St. Gallen last weekend. On Saturday, June 1, 2024, all twelve foals offered were sold as part of the “Next Generation” foal auction, which was held for the first time by the Westphalian Horse Stud Book and the Baden-Württemberg Horse Breeding Association. With a total turnover of 222,000 euros, the average price was 18,500 euros. Most foals found a new owner in Switzerland (7), one foal each was sold to Austria and Liechtenstein, and three foals were purchased by buyers from Germany.

The sporty and powerful colt Evolution (Emerald/Casall; breeder: Gerd Groß, Burladingen), which was sold to sponsors for 29,000 euros, became the top price. Chacco-Blue's two fillies were also highly sought after: Calina Blue (MV Diamant de Semily; breeder: Werner Schulze, Langlingen) was worth 25,500 euros to a bidder from Baden-Württemberg, Chakkana (MV Kannan; breeder: Hariolf Schönherr, Ellwangen) was sold to Austria for 21,000 euros. For 20,000 euros each, bidders from Switzerland secured the two colts Carouge (Chin Chin/Heartbreaker; breeder: Dr. Wolf-Dieter Wagner, Stetten a.k.M.) and Casper W (Comme il faut/Lancer III; breeder: Fabian Wasch, Borgentreich).

The two marketing managers Thomas Münch and Norbert Freistedt were extremely satisfied: “We are glad and happy to be able to be guests at such a top-class event like the CSIO in St. Gallen with our breeders and their foals. We met our customers' tastes with a high-quality collection and achieved a result that exceeded our expectations. We have firmly planned the second edition of the foal auction in St. Gallen in 2025.”
